May, 6 "Splash!"

May, 5 "Una Rosa Secca"

Before I moved to Lanzarote, I had been living for three years in the south of Portugal, the Algarve, in a small town whose name is "Praia da Rocha". In our apartment I had, until the day we left, a beautiful bouquet of dried roses. Every time that I receive roses (...it doesn't happen everyday...) the first thing I do is to hang them upside down and let them dry. In this way the blossoms stay closed, the leaves don't fall and the roses last forever. One night I was home alone (well never alone, always with my beloved Pisellina), I played some of my favourites songs, took the camera, the tripod and started to take pictures of these roses....So that I still have them with me, even if I wasn't able to bring them here.

May, 4 "Vecchia Porta Chiusa"
Quarto giorno, quarta foto.
Fourth day, fourth shot. This is the door of an abandoned house not far away from where I live. I don't know why but I really like taking pictures of the wood when it has been ruined by the sun, and it starts cracking and the paint on it starts chopping off and folding on itself...I like it, I don't know why!
Starting tomorrow I'll be much busier and it's going to be more difficult to find the time for this challenge. But that's why it's called a challenge...! It's nice knowing that I somehow have to dedicate myself to one of my "creations" everyday, too many times in fact it happens that I go out, shoot some photos and simply download them into my computer. And they just stay there waiting for me to have the time and right mood to work on them.

May, 3 "Uccello Pensieroso"
La scena si ripete ancora ed ancora! spero di riuscire a fotografarla prima o poi....This nice bird belongs to a group that I see everyday when I'm walking on the main street here in Arrecife right in front of the ocean. These birds all stay on two, maybe three trees and what's really cute is that I've seen some very interesting "feeding scenes". There are some new borns who are really desperate for food, they cry until their mother/father arrives with the food: at that point they simply attack him to get the food...And this goes on and on! I hope I'll be able to get that with my camera someday!

May, 2 "Cactus Bianco"
This is my second picture for the Challenge. It was shot at a very unique place on the island called "Jardin de Cactus" (Cactus Garden),which is a garden where the only plants to be found are Cactuses! It is one of the many places that have been conceived and created by the artist who gave all of his life to his native island, Cesar Manrique.
